World Hospice and Palliative Care Day is honoured and celebrated on Oct 10, this year . The theme My Care My Comfort advocates the rights of the patients to have Care and Comfort with empathy compassion and love from the healthcare providers . Palliative care treats the person as a whole, not the disease, mitigating total pain -- physical emotional social and economic and spiritual validating the prospect of palliative care and hospice care to provide better quality of life and dignified peaceful death even prolonging the life span of the terminally ill patients undergoing palliative care. On this auspicious day we sign the pledge to reach out to every single patient with the hospice and palliative care, the priceless role played consequently providing COMFORT, CARE and LOVE to the patients making them feel free to realise that they are not alone, we are all with them for their and the family members' well-being.
