If you place the question on the world table," Do you have terror in mind knowing that you are diagnosed with cancer?" Except a very few, all will answer "yes". Though medical treatment is in advancing stage, the care gap still exists. It's estimated that 55 million people are drowned below poverty line due to high expense for the treatment. They are devoid of proper treatment. Herein lies the Care gap which must be equalised , the responsibility is shouldered on the government machinery. I have seen many patients of hands to mouth families take a voyage to the unknown world leaving the property account zero or in minus burdened with loans. New cases in india registered in 2020 is 800000. Mortality rate shows 7.3 per 1000 which is in declining graph.
One woman dies of cervical cancer every 8 minutes in India. For every 2 women newly diagnosed with breast cancer one woman dies of it .
This very day , I feel the year  ahead, is celebrated with the vigorous campaign for awareness and prevention , so that the early detection will lower the mortality rate. We all want Cancer free future.
Today I will tell a life journey with cervical cancer of a gentle lady in septuagenarian , very close to me. Her two daughters dedicated their lives in caring their beloved mother. I am astonished how they are caring inspite of their own family responsibilities. Two days ago I had a conversation with the respected gentle lady , I could find her mental power. When the oncologist desired to talk with her daughter separately requesting the lady to sit outside the chamber, the wise lady told the oncologist, " I know what you will convey the latest prognosis". She told me she is ready for departure, but she is concerned about her  husband in octogenarian. She feels sad for the burden shouldered by her two unique daughters. I then told her ," If you feel guilty, your daughters will feel bad , as they possess compassionate heart urging them to take care. When she expressed her desire to die immediately, what I told she admitted that we don't know our hour of departure, which is pre fixed by the Almighty. Such Caregiving plays a vital role which should be recognised and paid respect.
5 important ways to observe the day reducing cancer risk.
1) Do exercise 30 minutes, walk 45 minutes daily.
2) Maintain a healthy weight -- Check your BMI to assess your healthy weight.
3) Get regular screening for the women to follow for early detection of breast cancer and men for prostate cancer.
4) Consider immunization.
5) Avoid fast food, spicy food , change the life style and we and future generation will be benefited.
Let us take a vow to follow the guidelines to make the country cancer free. Together we can. Our government should come forward to reach out to every community, to each and every person accessible to healthcare, to bridge the gap, closing the gap.

The theme My Care My Comfort advocates the rights of the patients to have Care and Comfort with empathy compassion and love from the healthcare providers . Palliative care treats the person as a whole, not the disease, mitigating total pain -- physical emotional social and economic and spiritual validating the prospect of palliative care and hospice care to provide better quality of life and dignified peaceful death even prolonging the life span of the terminally ill patients undergoing palliative care. GOOD DEATH

#TOUCH_HEALING_BOND# #NONVERBAL_COMMUNICATION# #PALLIATIVE_CARE# #LOVE#              #A_SOFT_TOUCH_SYMBOL_OF_LOVE#     Touch symbolises LOVE, the terminal patient with non-communicable disease like cancer 🦀 needs from the loved one, the primary caregiver. I observed myself when I just placed my palm on her head just before her journey to the unknown world, her eyes , opened in pain before death, became closed being relieved of pain, looked calm.      The unique experience I gained : at the time of her dying moment, I put my hand on her forehead and chanted a prayer, it was a marvel to me she smelled the sense even in her vegetative state and the soul departed immediately with peace, I could honestly feel .        So the soft loving touch promotes physical and psychological well-being .

DREAMS BEFORE THE DYING

Many experience vivid and meaningful dreams and visions just a few days before dying. American Journal of Hospice and Palliative Care on studying focus primarily on the perspective of the patient that most dreams are the source of personal comfort, peace, acceptance of death --- a transition from dreaming about living person to dreaming about the dead.      My beloved wife with cancer combated two and a half year with her indomitable spirit and willpower. She left me three years and six months, I still miss her a lot. I was the sole caregiver for her. I was the witness of a many incident, the most interesting is her dream.  1. During her ongoing chemotherapy she frequently dreamt that she was drowning in the river. Oneday she dreamt that she was saved by a small boy from drowning. When she shared I opined that treatment might be responding , a message of recovery. It comforted her, may be the little boy , representative of God. 2. Oneday sh...
